EAST PRESTON RATEPAYERS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION

the east preston ratepayers association was established in 1977 by members of the east preston community to represent the interest of the area (Tax) ratepayers in matters relevant to the community.
Over time, the association evolved and expanded its scope to include advocacy on behalf of its members in all matters of community interest. In 2012, the association affected a name change to reflect its community focus, and remains to this day as the East Preston Ratepayers Community Development Association (eprcda)
The area known as East Preston has a well-deserved reputation as a close-knit community. Faced However, with an aging and disbursed population, and a non-existent online profile, members of the eprcda recognized the risk of dwindling citizen engagement with community affairs, was due largely to communication challenges.
in 2017, the board of directors embraced the potential of online marketing as a way to increase citizen engagement and began the development of an online branding project for the promotion of the community assets of East Preston, including the East Preston Rate Payers Association, East Preston Recreation Centre and various groups related to youth, senior and faith-based populations. This website, together with a social media presence on facebook and twitter channels, is intended to increase awareness of community interests, Encourage involvement in community affairs and Engage local citizens in conversations about the cultural signifigance of East Preston, Nova Scotia.

The board meets on the second tuesday of each month, unless otherwise posted. and convenes its annual general meeting by the fifth month (May).

Membership is open to all residents of the community of East Preston, NOva Scotia.
